Monet Patrice Thomas is a writer & poet recently returned from a year abroad in Beijing, China where she taught ESL. Born in Virginia, her family moved up & down the east coast before she completed high school & college in North Carolina. She holds a degree in Business Marketing from Elon University & a Masters of Fine Arts from the Inland Northwest Center for Writers at Eastern Washington University. She is currently the Interviews Editor for The Rumpus. Her writing has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and several best-of-the-net prizes. Her flash fiction story, Ring of Salt was chosen by Aimee Bender for the 2018 Best Small Fictions anthology. She attended the Tin House Summer Workshop with instructor Kiese Laymon for creative nonfiction & is currently a reader for the Wigleaf Top 50 for 2018. Monet is currently being represented by Stephanie Delman at Sanford Greenburger Associates.
